The Montessori primary curriculum uses the developmental characteristics of young children, including their absorbent mind. Guided by a Montessori trained adult, the child learns through active interaction with the prepared classroom environment and multi-aged peers. The Montessori curriculum promotes independence and creative thinking. The curriculum is interactive and interdisciplinary.
Our classrooms create a home-like, “living room” for children. Children move freely within the classroom with a variety of activity, movement, and focus. Our classrooms give younger children a chance to look ahead and see what is coming next by watching the older children. Older children have the chance to reinforce their knowledge by sharing it with the younger children. A community is created within the classroom and the school.
