At Children's Own School, we try to keep the admissions process as simple as possible. While we offer a few opportunities to get to know our community before you apply, the essence of the school must be experienced when school is in session! We look forward to getting to know your family during the admissions process.
Children’s Own School accepts applications, accompanied by an application fee of $50.00, beginning on October 1st the year prior to admission. The application deadline is January 31, 2019.
We strongly suggest you attend the Open House and an information session before you apply, particularly if you are unfamiliar with the Montessori method. We are looking for families committed to Montessori education and who are ready to stay for the developmental cycle of our primary program. Therefore, we do not rank applications based on when they are received. Admission is determined after careful consideration as to the appropriate placement for the child and with attention to balancing our classrooms by age and gender.
Once we have received your application, children are invited to visit a classroom and meet with a teacher in the afternoon. These visits are arranged in the winter. Specific information will be provided to families once we receive a child's application.
Decision letters are sent out in the middle of March.
We are very proud of our school, and we'd like to give prospective parents the chance get to know our school community! Children's Own School hosts an Open House in the fall. This is a chance to see our classrooms and move freely throughout the facility. No reservations are necessary.
Parents Only Please.
2018 Open House is October 20, 2018 from 10:00am to 12:00 pm
Information sessions are the chance to learn more about the Montessori method, meet with school staff, observe a classroom in action, and ask questions about our programs.
Information sessions are held on Fridays beginning in November and continuing through January. Specific dates can be found on the calendar.
